Shaniwar Wada

This is me and my room mate(Krishna Das) in one of the gates of Shaniwar Wada. Apparently in the olden times this gate was guarded by atleast 20 guards.

From Shaniwar Wada
This is the 90% view of shaniwar wada from top.
From Shaniwar Wada
It was an extremely beautiful palace at one time. Unfortunately fire devoured it completely except for those stones. The fire raged for one week here and it litreally brought the house down. But one question begs an answer, why wasn't the fire doused ??. Was the fire too fierce to be brought down ??? or was it lack of fire fighting equipment ??

I might as well search google for an answer :D

I think this is around the time you were going to be heading home to see your family. Hope you either had or are having an awesome trip.

In that second picture the stones we see, are they the original foundation? That door is really something.

Well i had an excellent vacation toccata. I really didn't want to come back, but it's not like i have a choice in that. Anyways coming to your question, they are the original stone foundation. But the ASI (Archeological Survey of India) are not doing an excellent job of protecting it.
