Jeena Marna Teri liyae Sanam

I wrote this when i was seriously working on my radar/spider chart control. I seriously need to make my mind concentrate on one task at time. Comments and thoughts are welcome

Jeeyonga teri bhaon mae, maronga teri bahon mae
Jaaneja, tum mile, zindagi mil gayi
Dard kae asovae sae bara hua yae aankhen
Aab kushiyon kae asovae sae bara hua hae
Jee raha hu tumarae liyae, yae jaaneman
Muhabaat hae tumsae, vaada kartha hoon mae
saath nahi chodanga teri janam janam ke liye

The above is written in Hindi, if you need an english translation, please do mail me, i will see if i can do some translation :-)

I have a question. What does jeena marna teri liyae sanam mean in Hindi. I am particularly interested in the word Marna as that is my first name which my parents saw on the credits of an old Alfred Hitchcock film. Where I am from you never see the name Marna.

hey toccata

Marna is a hindi word and in english it means To Die. As for Jeena Marna Teri Liyae is a hindi sentence and in english it roughly translates to I live and die for you. You ofcourse here refers to the one you love.

Thank you so much for answering.

Here in Canada we are celebrating Christmas. Well, of course it depends on one's faith. Anyhow, Merry Christmas vikramjb which might mean different things to and from different people but from me it means peace be with you and I hope you are surrounded by the love and warmth of family and friends this holiday season and throughout the upcoming new year. So there's your little Christmas greeting all the way from Canada.

"tum jao sootho, aur jha nai marna"

The grammar is not correct but it roughly translates to what you have said. Can you point me to the link where you found this maybe i can do an exact translation.

Thanks for the reply Vikram.

It wasn't from a link. A freind sent it to me over a msn conversation and i was trying to work out why she would say go sleep and dont die! lol.

the full sentence is as follows:

tum jao sootho, aur jha nai marna aur kuch garbar nai karna!

thank you for your help again!

"tum jao sootho,"
This line basically means go and sleep.

"aur jha nai marna aur kuch garbar nai karna!"

This line means don't do any anything wrong and die.

Your friend must have intended it as a joke or something :)
